Network Specialist L2
Join Stena Group IT as a Network Specialist L2 to own escalated incidents, diagnose root causes and deliver stable, secure network services across the business.
Network Specialist L2 ensures the stable, secure and reliable operation of Stena Group IT infrastructure by investigating escalated incidents, performing root cause analysis and delivering effective fixes that keep our network and supporting services running smoothly across the business.
We offer
As our Network Specialist L2, you will play a central role in strengthening service delivery by owning escalated incidents from L1 support and seeing them through to resolution or proper escalation to L3. You will work with a high degree of independence, supported by the wider Infrastructure and Operations team, L3 specialists, vendors and the ITSM Process Management team.
Your primary focus will be on investigating and resolving complex infrastructure, application and access issues, performing root cause analysis and delivering permanent or temporary fixes that minimize business impact. You will collaborate closely with L1, L3, business stakeholders and external vendors during major incident calls and day-to-day operations to keep services aligned with SLA expectations. Your expertise will help us strengthen the stability of our environment, reduce repeat incidents and continuously improve how knowledge flows between support tiers.
You will be equipped with the monitoring tools, logging platforms and scripting environments needed to succeed. Your work will directly influence service availability, user experience and operational quality across the entire organization.
About You
You bring solid hands-on experience as an L2 support engineer, supported by strong troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking and a clear ownership mindset. You are confident taking escalated incidents through their full lifecycle - validating information, collecting missing data, analyzing logs and system behavior, identifying root cause, applying fixes or workarounds, testing resolution and documenting the outcome and you escalate to L3 with complete context when a problem requires deeper expertise.
Your technical foundation includes a working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, complex networking (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN), CISCO, and practical experience with monitoring and logging tools. You are comfortable scripting in PowerShell or Bash to diagnose problems and automate routine checks, and you understand ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management) well enough to prioritize work based on business impact and SLAs. You support system health checks, patching, upgrades, and changes, and you contribute to runbooks, known error databases, and feedback loops that help L1 resolve more issues at first contact.
Your communication skills allow you to handle major incident calls calmly, coordinate with L3 teams and vendors when needed, and explain technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You value clear documentation and take ownership of sharing knowledge within the team.
Above all, you are proactive, curious and detail‑oriented; motivated to keep learning, stay current with new technologies and continuously improve how support is delivered across Stena Group IT.
