Platform Engineer
Join Stena Group IT as a Platform Engineer to evolve automation, observability and secure delivery - collaborate across teams and make a real impact.
Platform Engineers at Stena Group IT evolve and support the technical platform that powers software delivery across the organization - combining automation, developer enablement, observability and security-minded engineering to help teams build, deploy, and operate solutions reliably and efficiently.
We offer
As our Platform Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in evolving and supporting the technical platform that internal teams depend on every day. You will work closely with development, infrastructure and security stakeholders, contributing to how we build, deploy, monitor and operate solutions across our environment.
Your work will span platform development, operational support and security-minded engineering. You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, observability practices and service reliability, while helping ensure that security is embedded into the software delivery lifecycle in a practical and sustainable way. You will have real impact on developer experience, platform maintainability and the consistency of engineering practices across Stena Group IT.
You will be supported by a collaborative team and given the scope to make meaningful improvements. Your contributions will directly influence how reliably and efficiently we deliver and operate technology across the organization.
About You
You bring 5 or more years of experience in a DevOps, DevSecOps, platform engineering or closely related engineering role. You have a broad technical foundation, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to contribute across both operational support and development or automation work.
You are experienced with CI/CD pipelines, automation and infrastructure tooling and you have a solid understanding of cloud platforms, infrastructure as code and modern software delivery practices. You are comfortable writing scripts or developing platform tooling to support self-service capabilities, automation and integration-related use cases and you understand how to apply these skills to platform and service improvements.
You are familiar with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices and you bring a methodical approach to incident handling, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. You understand secure engineering practices and how to integrate them into delivery workflows, platform configurations and operational processes - including practical security improvements such as vulnerability management, access control and secure configurations.
You communicate clearly and work effectively across development, operations, infrastructure and security teams, sharing technical recommendations, trade-offs and risks in a pragmatic and understandable way. Experience with GIT and collaborative development practices in cross-functional teams is expected.
Above all, you are curious, collaborative, and adaptable - motivated to learn new technologies, broaden across adjacent domains and use AI-assisted tools and modern engineering workflows to improve your own effectiveness and the quality of what the team delivers.
