We offer
As our Microsoft 365 Messaging Specialist you will manage, maintain and optimize our enterprise email systems across Microsoft 365 Exchange Online and on-premises Exchange environments used by Stena’s different business areas, covering everything from maritime and wind-turbines, to new business and waste management. This role is critical in ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable email communication across the organization.
You will be responsible for the e-mail service and ensure that these are efficiently delivered with high quality and customer satisfaction. This includes defining and implementing best practices and roadmap for the email service, as well as driving and supporting the adoption and usage of these to best support our business units.
You will be part of the Collaboration team and work closely with other functions, business units and stakeholders within Stena Group IT and Stena to align the IT strategy and roadmap with the business needs and goals. To stay relevant, you will continuously evaluate the email and messaging service and seek new initiatives that can excel delivery towards our businesses.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) within and beyond the service portfolio.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership across projects and developments.
- Perform lifecycle management and handle complex technical cases.
- Identify improvement opportunities and stay current with industry trends.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Review technical deliverables such as design specs, documentation, and architecture plans.
- Provide advanced 3rd-line support and mentor junior team members and L2 SMEs.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in managing complex hybrid Exchange environments in large enterprises.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Exchange (Online & On-Prem) and Microsoft 365 architecture.
- Advanced understanding of mail flow, routing, transport rules, and third-party integrations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, email security gateway, and email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Minimum 5 years of documented experience in the field.
- Knowledge of Mimecast is beneficial but not required
As English is our corporate language, it is mandatory that you are fluent both speaking and writing.
