On behalf of Stena Rederi A/S our RoRo Fleet Group is looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer.
Would it motivate you to become part of an ambitious technical division, responsible for managing Stena RoRo’s fleet? You will be in charge of purchasing and all logistical related aspects in connection with shipping spares and supplies on board our vessels effectively and timely.
About the team
You will become part of a strong technical team of six passioned colleagues handling all technical operational aspects of the fleet. This includes all daily technical support, purchasing, enhancing and maintaining a strong and safe work environment. We are constantly working to improve and optimize the overall operation of the fleet – and you will become an important part of this. You will report to the Fleet Manager in the Stena RoRo Fleet Group.
About the position
As our new Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for purchasing consumables and spares for our vessels with high focus on quality at the right cost. Further you will ensure that the deliveries reach the vessel in time and in the most effective way. You will work with many different stakeholders internally but especially externally you must ensure that the collaboration with our business partners is continuously being strengthened and optimized.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing of all requisitions created by the vessels by sending out enquiries to different suppliers
- Reviewing the offers from suppliers and selecting the best option based on quality, price, and service
- Arranging delivery of provisions, stores, and spare parts to the vessels in a cost effective way
- Setting up price agreements and contracts with suppliers, make supplier visits, identify new sources and maximize supplier performance while maintaining a strong business relationship at all times
- Processing invoices in the system
What we expect
- You have 1 – 2 years’ experience working with procurement, purchasing or spares logistics
- You have a relevant theoretical background within procurement, engineering, technical or similar
- You have strong communication skills and find yourself at home in a dynamic working environment
- You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
- You have strong computer skills
- You hold a valid work and residence permit
Furthermore, we expect that you are open-minded and enjoy working with an international team. You can balance many tasks at a time, set goals and priorities. As our vessels are relying on us, we focus on meeting deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and structure. As shipping is a very dynamic industry, it is moreover good if you are quick to adapt to new and changing situations.
